Pre-Application
Meeting
Purpose and Intent
The Planning Department coordinates and facilitates
a regularly scheduled Pre-Application Meeting affording potential applicants
the opportunity to receive feedback on conceptual development proposals
prior to final design and formal application submission. Town participants
in the Pre-Application Meeting include:
- Development Review & Zoning
- Comprehensive Planning
- Natural Resources
- Engineering
- Building & Fire Codes
- Bureau of Fire Prevention
While there are no specific submission requirements,
the nature and detail of staff comments will be based on the information
provided by the applicant. The purpose of the Pre-Application Meeting
is to provide the applicant with comments, suggestions and/or concerns
from those Town departments that will ultimately be reviewing the potential
development proposal in its final design. There should be mutual benefit
to both the Town and the applicant from participation in this strictly
voluntary process.
Procedure
To schedule a review at a Pre-Application
Meeting, please contact the Planning Information Center at 843-341-4681.
Pre-Application Meeting submissions must
be made to the Planning Information Center ten (10) days prior to the
regularly scheduled meeting.
Ten (10) copies of both a conceptual development
plan as well as a written narrative detailing related aspects of construction
are required at the time of submission. Include Parcel number and contact.
The Planning Department will distribute the
written narrative and conceptual development proposal for each of the
Town participants to review prior to the meeting.
During the Pre-Application Meeting the applicant
may present an overview of the project wherein Town participants will
provide both verbal and written feedback on the conceptual development
proposal.
