On April 18, 2008 René Phillips, the Town’s Website/Court Systems Administrator, presented the Town’s electronic traffic and parking ticketing systems to approximately 100 municipal court administration professionals from South Carolina municipalities at the Municipal Court Administration Association Spring meeting in Columbia. The presentation provided other municipalities the opportunity to see the systems in operation and ask specific questions related to its implementation and administration, as well as visualize the significant benefits and time savings the system can provide both municipal courts as well as law enforcement agencies. The Town of Hilton Head Island was the first in the state to utilize electronic traffic tickets.
