The Community Development Department works on behalf of
the people of Hilton Head Island to plan for the future and to carry out
the development policies and objectives set by the Mayor, the Town Council
and various municipal boards and agencies.
The Town of Hilton Head Island
Community Development Department is dedicated to providing citizens
with courteous, efficient customer service. Our offices are in Building
C of the Government Center located at One Town Center Court. You may reach

The Department is responsible
for administration and interpretation of construction codes, construction
permitting and inspection, maintenance of permit records and enforcement
of provisions of the National Flood Insurance Program in the Town of Hilton
Head Island.
