These maps are used to determine
the flood or velocity zone and minimum required construction elevation
for structures in affected areas. Flood Zone information is available
upon request from our offices or this website.
A Flood Elevation Certificate
is required as part of building permit documentation for a new structure
in a flood hazard or high wind velocity zone. In some cases, Flood Elevation
Certificates are also required for additions and renovations. The Flood
Elevation Certificate is maintained as part of the permanent permit record
and is microfilmed along with other permit documentation. As of January
1, 2001, Flood Elevation Certificates are also maintained digitally as
part of the computerized building permit.
