Instructions for Completing the Certification Statement for Local Vendor Preference

The attached certification form must be completed and returned to the Town of Hilton Head Island in order to be eligible for the Local Vendor Preference. Please note this document must be notarized.

The statement form should be completed and mailed to:

Attn: Tom Fultz (Local Vendor Preference)

Once your certification has been received and verified you will be added to our Local Vendors Preference Bidders list. Additionally, you will receive written verification that your status as a local vendor has been approved. Whenever you submit a bid or respond to a Request for Bids, you should indicate your status as a Certified Local Vendor.

During the bid evaluation process, any vendor who meets the criteria for certification will have their bid price reduced by five percent (5%), not to exceed a maximum reduction of $2,500.00. If after the application of the Local Vendor Preference, if the vendor is determined to be the low responsive/responsible bidder, they will receive the award. The award price will reflect their original amount before the Local Vendor Preference was applied.
