The Entry-Level Firefighter written exam is a validated test consisting of five sections:

  • Getting along with Others in a Community Situation.

Candidates who pass the written exam are invited to return to Hilton Head Island to take part in the physical abilities test. The physical abilities test is a sequence of events requiring candidates to progress along a predetermined path from event to event in a continuous manner. This is a pass/fail test and you must pass to continue to the Panel Interview phase of the process that takes place that same day.
