Board of Zoning Appeals

  • Reviews and takes action on special exception applications;
  • Hears and decides requests for variances;
  • Reviews and takes action on appeals of Planning Commission action on certain traffic analysis plans.
  • Hears and decides appeals where it is alleged there is an error in a decision or determination by the Town Administrator in the enforcement of the Land Management Ordinance.

Design Review Board

The Design Review Board is a board of architectural and landscape design review for projects in the Corridor Overlay District and for signs throughout the community.

  • Reviews and makes recommendations for adoptions of amendments to the Land Management Ordinance;
  • Reviews applications for sign permits;
  • Reviews development within the Corridor Overlay District.

Parks & Recreation Commission

Makes recommendations for the establishment of an effective Parks & Recreation System for the citizens and residents of the Town.

Planning Commission

  • Review and take action on street names;
  • Review and make recommendations on public projects;
  • Review and take action on certain traffic impact analysis plans;
  • Review and make recommendations to the Town Council in regard to amendments to the Land Management Ordinance and to the official zoning map;
  • Prepare and revise plans and programs for the development and redevelopment of its areas as provided in the Land Management Ordinance.

Pre-Application Committee

Prior to the submission of any application, whether for Planning Commission, Design Review Board, Board of Zoning Appeals or staff review, all potential applicants are strongly encouraged to request a pre-application meeting. The purpose of this meeting is to respond to any questions which the applicant may have regarding any applicable procedures, standards or regulations required by the Land Management Ordinance.
