Stoney/Skull Creek Area

In the Works:

1. Construction of a pedestrian bridge across Jarvis Creek as part of the Spanish Wells Road pathway, including "bump out" rest stops on the bridge to allow pedestrians to enjoy the views of Jarvis Creek.
2. Installation of the backbone system for extending sewer service to the area at and surrounding Bluewater Marina and Resort, which includes part of the redevelopment area. Funding of this project will be shared between Bluewater, Hilton Head #1 PSD, and the Town, with TIF funds being utilized for the area in the TIF district.
3. Reconstruction of the intersection of Squire Pope Road and Gum Tree Road, utilizing a round-about design to improve efficiency of traffic movement, and construction of appropriate pedestrian pathway segments and crosswalks to provide a safer environment for pedestrians. This project is being done and funded in partnership with the Bluewater Marina and Resort.
4. Construction of a new Fire Station at the corner of Squire Pope Road and Squiresgate Road.
5. Improvements to the stormwater drainage outfalls along Squire Pope Road.
6. Relocation westward and reconstruction of the intersection of Squire Pope Road at William Hilton Parkway.
7. Improvements to the pedestrian crossing on William Hilton Parkway at Spanish Wells Road.
