When a storm is approaching the Island, listen to radio stations WGCO 98.3 FM, WYKZ 98.7, WWVV 106.9 FM, or watch Channel WJWJ-TV for emergency information and instructions.  You may also monitor the Storm Updates on this Website.

Once a hurricane becomes a threat to Hilton Head Island we provide up-to-date recorded information about the storm throughout the day at the following phone numbers:

The State of South Carolina's toll-free Public Information Phone System (PIPS) is provided to disseminate accurate evacuation and shelter information to visitors and citizens for South Carolina during a hurricane evacuation. The toll-free number is 1-866-246-0133.

Transportation
If you are unable to provide for your own transportation when a mandatory evacuation is issued, the Town of Hilton Head Island Fire & Rescue Division will provide transportation!  You may call 341-4600 to request assistance.
