Shelter Cove Mall Redevelopment Project

On October 16, 2012 Town Council approved a conceptual plan to redevelop the Mall at Shelter Cove. The plan converts the mall to an open air, mixed use development containing retail, restaurants, and apartments, as well as a community park. The retail center will be anchored by the two Belk stores and a new Kroger grocery store, plus a mix of retail, restaurants, and shops.

Much of the mall has already been demolished and some business, Jos. A. Bank, Kroger Grocery Store and Kroger Gas Station, are open for business. The Town's Design Review Board has approved the architecture and landscaping for the rest of the commercial portion and many of the other buildings are under construction.
