Lagoon and Avocet Road Pathway Projects

The Lagoon Road and Avocet Road pathway projects were constructed at the same time for efficency and money savings.

Lagoon Road Pathway

The Lagoon Road multi-use pathway was constructed from the intersection of Lagoon Road and Pope Avenue connecting to the pathway at the Avocet and Lagoon Road intersection. The project provided a new multi-use pathway down the west side of Lagoon Road and ending at the intersection of Lagoon and Avocet Roads. This pathway project required a small amount of storm water drain inlet redesign and when completed a multi-use pathway was constructed along Lagoon Road shoulder. The scope of work involved taking an existing roadway shoulder and ditch, clearing undergrowth, extending some of the storm water drain system as needed and the redesigning of some of the existing inlets, relocating some of the utilities as needed, grading, and installing the base and final layers of pathway materials.

Avocet Road Pathway

The Avocet Road multi-use pathway was constructed from the intersection of Lagoon Road and Avocet Road connecting to the existing pathway at the Avocet and North Forest Beach intersection. The project provided a new multi-use pathway down the entire south side (Coligny Plaza side) of the road and extending a small section of an existing walkway on the north side of Avocet Road between The North Shore Development and Sea Crest Racquet Club. This pathway project involved a small amount of storm water drain inlet redesign and when completed a multi-use pathway was constructed along Avocet Road shoulders. Approx. 950 linear feet of pathway comprising of asphalt, concrete pathways and color stamped asphalt crosswalks
