What is accepted at the Convenience Center:
- Bagged household garbage
- Bulky items: furniture, toys, and bulky household items
- Clear glass, brown glass and green glass
- Aluminum and steel cans
- Plastic # 1 & 2 (sodas, water bottles, milk jugs, detergent bottles, etc.
- Newspapers, magazines, cardboard, white office paper, pasteboard and mixed paper
- Tires, batteries, oil and appliances
Reduce, Re-use, Recycle
In an effort to promote green policies, Staff at Town Hall is participating in the following recycling tips:
- Use less paper: print double sided whenever possible
- Avoid printing e-mails
- Re-use file folders
- Use less styrofoam: bring in favorite coffee cup instead of using styrofoam cup
- Bring lunch/snacks in containers from home to avoid using paper plates
- Wash plastic utensils to use over again
- Recycle more: recycle office paper, packaging, newspapers, junk mail
- Buy products with recyclable packaging
- Plastics numbered 1 and 2 are easier to recycle than higher numbers
- Carry items from store in a canvas bag instead of using plastic bags.
- Buy local products if possible - it cuts down on fuel to transport and supports our community.
- Recycle cell phones, ink cartridges and rechargeable batteries at Best Buy
- Ask your church, bank, alumni association, etc. to send bulletins and statements via e-mail instead of through the postal system.
- Donate old books to your local library
