Wedding ceremonies that will be performed on the beach require a permit from the Town of Hilton Head Island. To apply for a permit, please submit the Wedding Ceremony on the Beach Request Form which includes the Time, Date, Location, duration, number of expected guests and any other information that may be relevant. Please include a current mailing address and a daytime telephone number.
Anyone interested in applying for a permit to hold a wedding ceremony on the beach from now until the end of 2016 should be aware that Hilton Head Island was hit hard by Hurricane Matthew on October 8th. We are extremely fortunate that no lives were lost here on the island. Thousands of trees came down, damaging hundreds of utility lines and homes. All town parks suffered damage and public access to the beach through these particular properties is limited to only those that have been reopened. Town parks and public beach access points will reopen as they are cleared of debris and deemed safe. You can monitor the Town's website for notices that will be posted as soon as information is available: www.hiltonheadislandsc.gov
In addition, the Town of Hilton Head Island's beach re-nourishment project is currently expected to continue into November. Project details can be found on the Town's website using the following link: www.hiltonheadislandsc.gov/projects/beachrenourish/2016beachrenourish/
The "Location Details" of the ceremony must be known prior to the request submission.
