What do I do with Household Hazardous Waste?

Reduce, Re-use, Recycle

In an effort to promote green policies, Staff at Town Hall is participating in the following recycling tips:

  • Use less paper: print double sided whenever possible
    • Avoid printing e-mails
    • Re-use file folders
  • Use less styrofoam: bring in favorite coffee cup instead of using styrofoam cup
    • Bring lunch/snacks in containers from home to avoid using paper plates
    • Wash plastic utensils to use over again
  • Recycle more: recycle office paper, packaging, newspapers, junk mail
    • Buy products with recyclable packaging
    • Plastics numbered 1 and 2 are easier to recycle than higher numbers
    • Carry items from store in a canvas bag instead of using plastic bags.
    • Buy local products if possible - it cuts down on fuel to transport and supports our community.
    • Recycle cell phones, ink cartridges and rechargeable batteries at Best Buy
    • Ask your church, bank, alumni association, etc. to send bulletins and statements via e-mail instead of through the postal system.
    • Donate old books to your local library
