From the Town of Hilton Head Island Emergency Management Division:

The National Weather Service has issued both a High Surf Advisory and a Rip Current Statement for our area. The potential for breakers as high as nine feet and conditions favorable to the development of strong rip currents will exist from today through Friday as the result of Hurricane Earl passing by. You are urged to remain aware of surf conditions and exercise appropriate caution if in the water.
