Business License Renewals and Tax Payments

The Town of Hilton Head Island's enhanced online service allows customers to renew their Business License, pay Hospitality and Accommodation tax, and Beach Preservation fees up to $2500.00. Each Business License renewal and Hospitality, Accommodation tax and Beach Preservation fee form sent by the Town will contain your account number as well as personal identification number (PIN) that allows you to complete the renewal application on our website. Online payments may be made using any of the following credit cards: Mastercard, Visa, Discover or American Express card.

Would you like to change your tax payments to monthly or quarterly?
If you wish to change your hospitality tax or accommodations tax remittance to monthly or quarterly, please send an email with your request to buslic@hiltonheadislandsc.govemail icon or fax your request to 843-341-4637. Please include your name and account number with your request. All requests need to be submitted by 12/31/2018 to ensure your 2019 tax periods are correct.

To avoid paying penalties on your annual business license renewal, the fee must be received and/or postmarked no later than April 30th. To avoid paying penalties on Hospitality, Accommodation tax and Beach Preservation fees, they must be received and/or postmarked no later than the 20th of the month following the tax payment due date. For nonpayment of all or any portion of the business license fee and/or tax payments by the due date, the license inspector shall levy and collect a late penalty of five (5) percent of the unpaid fee for each month or portion thereof after the due date until paid.

If you do not plan to work within the Town of Hilton Head Island for the renewing business license year, please indicate this information on your renewal form and return it to the Town's Revenue Services Division.
