Work to repair hurricane damage to the previously constructed beach along the south central oceanfront (North and South Forest Beach) is complete. The Town's contractor Weeks Marine, Incorporated, has rebuilt the beach to the point where they were prior to Hurricane Matthew near Shipyard/Palmetto Dunes. As a result of the impact of the storm, Town hereby announces a change in the limits to two (2) of the four (4) of the acceptance segments along the central oceanfront portion of the work. Currently, the active work area is near Wendover Dunes in southern Palmetto Dunes. Now, work is expected to advance approximately 3,500 feet to near Captain's Walk before the dredge is repositioned and beach fill operations begin near Singleton Beach. This represents a shift in the breakpoint only. The Town expects to complete this revised section within the next 10 days.
