Public Information Meeting Regarding One Cent Transportation Referendum Projects (U.S. 278 Gateway Corridor, U.S. 21 and Multi-use Pathways)

The Town of Hilton Head Island and Beaufort County will host a public information meeting at 6 p.m., Wednesday, August 15, at the Bluffton branch of the Beaufort County Library, 120 Palmetto Way [map], to share information on transportation needs within the County.

Officials will also discuss funding options and gather input on the following proposed projects:

  • U.S. 278 corridor and bridges between Moss Creek Drive and Squire Pope Road on Hilton Head Island.
  • Sidewalk and pathway improvements in the County, including areas along Burnt Church, Ulmer, Shad and Alljoy roads, and between Lake Point Drive and Old Miller Road in Bluffton.
  • U.S. 21 corridor between the Woods Memorial Bridge and the Chowan Creek Bridge in Beaufort.
