Announcements and Reminders

  • SC Department of Labor, Licensing and Regulation (LLR) is extending the license renewal deadline for licenses, registrations, and permits scheduled to renew during the months of April, May, June, July, and August. The new renewal deadline is extended to September 30, 2020. Learn more at

  • Town of Hilton Head Island Offices
    Town of Hilton Head Island Offices Scheduled to Reopen Monday, June 15
    Public Access Will Be Limited
    Members of the public are encouraged to conduct business with the Town by phone, e-mail or online, when possible.

  • Single-Use Plastic Bags
    The Town temporarily allowed the utilization of single-use plastic bags to assist with the larger than normal volume of take-out and curbside orders. The use of these types of bags should be discontinued after July 7, 2020.

  • Business License Renewal Deadline
    Collections of business license fees, local tax, and local hospitality tax are delayed until June 20th. Penalties and late fees for business license renewals are waived through June 20th.

  • Cross Island Parkway Tolls
    Cross Island Parkway Toll Collections Resume on Friday, JUne 19, 2020.

  • The Breeze Trolley Service
    The Breeze Trolleys serving Hilton Head Island will commence service starting Monday, June 22, 2020. The trolley route, service hours, and stops are the same as last year, but one significant difference is that the service will be free to ride all season, thanks to additional funding being provided by the Town of Hilton Head Island.

  • IRS and Income Taxes
    Income tax filing due dates for state and federal taxes have been extended to July 15, 2020. Visit for federal information and for state guidelines.

  • Special Events
    All organized recreational activities and activities for which special event permits have been acquired from the Town for use on Town properties are canceled.
