COVID-19 Vaccine Information

The SC Department of Health and Environmental Control (DHEC) is managing distribution of the COVID-19 vaccine in South Carolina. For the latest update on the vaccine and access to frequently asked questions about the vaccine and the vaccination program in our state, please visit DHEC's website at https://scdhec.gov/covid19/covid-19-vaccination.

Gov. Henry McMaster and DHEC announced today that all South Carolinians aged 16 and older will be eligible to receive the COVID-19 vaccine beginning March 31, 2021 and can begin scheduling their appointments as of next Wednesday.

COVID-19 Testing

Drive-thru testing for COVID-19 is available from 8 am to noon at Hilton Head Hospital (25 Hospital Center Blvd. on Hilton Head Island) and Coastal Carolina Hospital (1000 Medical Center Drive in Hardeeville). The test is free. No appointment or doctor's order is needed.

Additinally, DHEC has created a search tool for South Carolinians to find COVID-19 screening and testing sites in their county. Visit scdhec.gov/COVID19Testing to find screening and testing sites near you.

 


COVID-19 Symptoms

What should I do if I am showing symptoms such as fever, cough or shortness of breath?

Call your personal doctor or healthcare provider for information/instructions.

What if I don't have a personal doctor?

If you don't have a primary care physician there are multiple options for telehealth.

MUSC Health

MUSC Health is providing free telehealth screening.

  • Anyone experiencing symptoms can visit MUSC.care and use the promo code COVID19 and be screened without having to leave your home.
  • You can also call 843-261-5940 with any questions.

Prisma Health

Prisma Health is offering a free virtual visit at www.prismahealth.org/virtual-visit/.

Beaufort Memorial

Beaufort Memorial is offering virtual visits to be screened by a provider who can refer them to a higher level of care, if needed.
