The Town of Hilton Head Island will conduct its annual vehicle, bicycle, and pedestrian traffic counts on the Island starting Monday, July 10, and ending Friday, July 14.
The Town conducts traffic counts every year to understand the volume and pattern of traffic on the Island. Staff uses the data to manage existing infrastructure effectively and plan for future infrastructure needs.
Camera equipment and traffic tubes will be used to count vehicles traveling through 25 signalized intersections and 13 strategic locations along William Hilton Parkway, the Cross Island Parkway, Palmetto Bay Road, Pope Avenue, Folly Field Road, and Starfish Drive.
