Stormwater Maintenance Projects Scheduled to Start November 16, 2023

November 16, 2023

Starting Thursday, November 16, the Town of Hilton Head Island will conduct stormwater maintenance work on the drainage channel along Arrow Road between Palmetto Business Park and Haig Point Circle, and across sections of Crossings Park.

The work will last up to a month and includes the clearance of overgrown vegetation to access the channel and the excavation of accumulated sediment to restore optimal drainage capacity. As a result, a segment of the dirt bike trails will be temporarily closed to the public. No traffic delays are anticipated.

For more information, contact Kelli Uyesugi, Project Manager, at 843-341-4602 or at KelliU@hiltonheadislandsc.gov.

Concurrently, Beaufort County will perform stormwater maintenance work along New Orleans Road between Corpus Christi and William Hilton Parkway starting on Sunday, November 19. Maintenance activities include the excavation of accumulated sediment from driveway culverts and roadside ditches along the north shoulder to restore drainage system capacity. The work will require shoulder closures and temporary lane closures. The public is urged to exercise caution when driving in the immediate vicinity.

For further information, contact Bradley Harriott, Beaufort County Assistant Public Works Director - Operations, at 843-255-2731 or at john.harriott@bcgov.net.
