Due to ongoing adverse weather and ocean conditions, Marinex Construction paused sand pumping work at Pine Island Beach for several days this week to ensure the crew's safety. Rough seas are expected to delay beach renourishment operations until Saturday.
Despite these delays, the Marinex crew was able to capture impressive drone photos showcasing progress at Pine Island. Take a peek on our Flickr Page.
Additionally, weather-related delays have postponed plans to till the newly placed sand at Fish Haul Beach. Tilling, which was originally scheduled for this week, will now take place in late October.
The Marinex Construction crew will continue to monitor weather and ocean conditions and pump sand on Pine Island beach if it is safe to do so. During the sand placement work, the entire beach will be closed. The public is advised to observe and follow all posted caution and closure signs.
Thank you for your patience and support as we work together to enhance and preserve the beauty of our island's shoreline!
