Beach Renourishment Phases 1 & 2 Project Update 19

Construction activities at Port Royal and Singleton Beach areas

December 12, 2025

This Week's Progress (December 6-12, 2025)

Marinex Construction continued installing pipes to the Bay Point Shoals Borrow Area — the sand source — for phase two of beach renourishment in the central part of the island, but recent weather forced work to pause.

Cape Romain Contractors worked on the breakwater structures at Pine Island Beach, a project that will take several months to complete.

Looking Ahead (December 13-19, 2025)

Marinex Construction expects to be back on schedule early this week, weather permitting, as crews work to install the final stretch of pipeline to the sand source and begin placing sand in the Singleton Beach area.

Marinex Construction will pause operations from December 22–27 to allow crew members time to be with their families during the holidays.

Cape Romain Contractors will continue working on the breakwater structures at Pine Island Beach. Pine Island Beach remains closed during this phase.
