Hilton Head Island Holiday Celebrations to keep your spirits bright

The holiday season is in full swing on Hilton Head Island, filling the community with a festive spirit and countless ways to celebrate together. The Town’s official Christmas tree shines bright at Lowcountry Celebration Park, a cheerful centerpiece for all to enjoy. Islanders and visitors alike are invited to take in the magic of the season and explore the many holiday events happening throughout the rest of the year.

Hilton Head Island Hanukkah Celebration and Menorah Lighting

Sunday, December. 14, from 5:30 - 6:30 pm
Lowcountry Celebration Park

Join us in celebrating the first night of Hanukkah! Experience the joy of the Menorah lighting, savor delicious latkes and sufganiyot (traditional Hanukkah food), enjoy music, play dreidel games, and more. Admission: Free

Santa & Sirens

Through Tuesday, December 16

This annual tradition includes Fire Rescue visiting various neighborhoods with Santa throughout the Island. Track his location in real time using the Santa Tracker, which activates nightly at 5:30 p.m. and updates with the correct route each morning. Download the Glympse app, join the tag hhifirerescue, and watch as Santa makes his way across the Island. The tracker Route maps will also be available on the Fire Rescue Facebook page.

Santa Mail

Now through Thursday, December 18

Drop your letter to Santa in the Santa Mailbox at any Hilton Head Island fire station or Fire Rescue Headquarters, and Santa will write back in no time! Make sure your return address is on the envelope. Visit the Town's website to find the fire station nearest to you!

Keep the Wreath Green

Now through Thursday, January 1, 2026

Check out the eight-foot wreath at Hilton Head Island Fire Rescue Station #3, decorated with glowing green bulbs. Each time a preventable fire occurs, such as those caused by cooking, candles, space heaters, or similar risks, a green bulb will be replaced with a red one. The goal is to keep the wreath glowing green through January 1, 2026. Let's all do our part by practicing safe decorating, heating, and holiday traditions so everyone has a safe season.

Holiday Light Display & Toy and Food Drive

Enjoy a sparkling light display through the end of this year at Fire Station #3. Spread some holiday cheer this season by dropping off new & unwrapped toys in the marked Deep Well container. Non-perishable food items can also be dropped off through January 1, 2026. Items collected will be used to aid those in need this holiday season.

Holiday recycling: Grinding of the Greens & Holiday Light Dropoff

With the Town's 15th annual Grinding of the Greens, it is simple to recycle your natural Christmas trees and wreaths after the holidays. Please remove all decorations. Drop off trees 24/7 from Friday, December 26, 2025, through Thursday, January 8, 2026, at the following locations:
