Town Council Meeting Highlights: January 13, 2026

The Hilton Head Island Town Council held a regularly scheduled meeting on Tuesday, Jan. 13, 2026.

A full recording of the meeting is available on the Town's YouTube channel, and a complete meeting overview (agenda and packet materials) is posted on the Town's website. The next regular Town Council meeting is scheduled for Feb. 10, 2026.

The community is invited to join the Town Council, Town Manager and staff from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Jan. 27 for the 2026 Town of Hilton Head Island Strategic Action Plan Update at the Westin Hilton Head Island Resort, in the Elliot/Drayton/Heyward Rooms (2 Grasslawn Ave). 

Presentations will include the progress that has occurred to date, and how the future of Hilton Head Island is taking shape through the ongoing implementation of the Fiscal Years (FY) 2026-2028 Strategic Action Plan and budget planning process. A live broadcast of the public meeting will be available through the Town of Hilton Head Island - YouTube page. Staff will be available to provide Spanish translation on site as needed. 

On behalf of Town Council, Mayor Alan Perry recognized kindergartener Angel Alarcon Aguado from the Hilton Head Island Early Childhood Center for his recent selection as the Beaufort County School District's Character Education Program honoree for Hilton Head Island. Angel was cited by his principal Kim Bratt and teacher Danielle Cartin for his demonstration of the character trait of "gratitude." According to his nomination, “Angel consistently shows gratitude each day with his peers and teachers.  He uses his manners, treats others with kindness and respect, and is thankful each day to be with his friends and to learn.”

Kirk Arich, a certified public accountant with Mauldin & Jenkins CPAs, presented the FY2025 Annual Comprehensive Financial Report for the Town of Hilton Head Island for the fiscal year ending June 30, 2025. The Town received an unmodified (“clean”) opinion.
