McKim and Creed, a contractor for the Town, will perform the survey, which includes data collection for property corners, utility locations, topography, trees, pavement, and other pertinent land features. Utility owners will mark or flag utilities prior to the survey work. Surveyors will flag all trees over six inches in diameter with tape as they collect information for the survey. No trees will be cut down in the process. Tape will be removed from the trees when the survey is completed.
In addition to Gum Tree Road, land survey work will take place on portions of the following roads:
Land survey work is expected to be completed in mid-February. The survey will be used to plan and design future projects to improve drainage deficiencies along Gum Tree Road. For more information, contact Kelli Uyesugi, Project Manager, at 843-341-4602 or at KelliU@hiltonheadislandsc.gov.
