Fire Rescue Geocaches

Did you know... Fire Rescue has 8 Geocaches on the Island?

We thought it would be a fun way for people to visit our stations, learn about Fire Rescue and get some safety messages in too!

What is Geocaching?

It's a real-world, outdoor treasure hunting game using GPS-enabled devices. Participants navigate to a certain set of coordinates and then attempt to find the hidden geocache container. Geocaching may also be described as a series of hide-and-seek games where hiders provide online clues for seekers. It's a great family activity for all ages.

Hilton Head Island Fire Rescue has created a safety series of geocaches for people of all ages to enjoy and learn from.

Fire Rescue has geocaches for bike safety, close before you doze, fire safety, water safety, boating safety, alligator safety, calling 911, and smoke alarms. Each geocache offers a safety tip and take away item.

Fire Rescue published their first geocache in 2017. To learn more, go to www.geocaching.com.
