Jonesville Historic Gullah Neighborhood

Located off Spanish Wells Road near Jarvis Creek.

• Jonesville takes its name from Caesar Jones, a freed slave who purchased over 100 acres of land.
• Some of the land remains under family ownership today.
• Historically, the people in this community were known as laborers, wheelwrights, shoemakers, businessmen, and carpenters.
• The Church of Christ, known for its spirit-filled services, is located in this community.
