New Pathway Construction at Islanders Beach Park Set to Begin Week of February 19, 2024

Construction work on a new pathway at Islanders Beach Park is set to begin during the week of February 19, 2024, with an anticipated completion date by the week of April 15, 2024. The construction schedule is slated for Monday through Friday, from 7 am to 7 pm.

This project will include site demolition and the construction of a 12-foot-wide paver pathway through the center of the parking area. New signs and crosswalk markings will be installed, and landscape enhancements made.

Additionally, to ensure safe access to the new pathway, a raised crosswalk will be established on Folly Field Road. Throughout the project area, traffic control measures and construction signage will be in place to guide motorists, pedestrians, and bicyclists. All individuals traveling through the work zone area are asked to exercise caution.

The construction of this new pathway is aimed at enhancing connectivity and safety for pedestrians and bicyclists, as they navigate from the existing pathway on Folly Field Road through the parking area and into the beach park.
