We offer three distinct pathways to join our Fire Rescue Team.

Step 1. Certified Candidate Pool

The Certified Candidate Pool allows Fire Rescue to recruit applicants who meet the following minimum qualifications:

IFSAC/ProBoard Firefighter II
National Registry EMT
Haz-Mat Ops Certification

The Certified Candidate Pool application process remains continually open.

Applicants received through this process will be contacted to participate in the Firefighter Candidate Physical Abilities Assessment (FCPAA) and panel interview.
FCPAA and interviews will be scheduled as soon as practical.
No written test will be required.

Step 2. Uncertified/Partially Certified Candidate Pool

We also maintain a hiring pool to fill Firefighter / Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) / Paramedic vacancies.

The hiring pool selection process creates a pool of applicants, including both non-certified and partially certified candidates, from which jobs are filled.

The frequency of refreshing our hiring pool is based on the needs of the department, typically happening annually.
