Entry-level Firefighter Exam

The Entry-level Firefighter Exam will measure your aptitude for skills that firefighters use on a regular basis The test will evaluate:

  • Reading Comprehension
  • Mechanical and Spatial Aptitude
  • Math
  • Ability to comprehend and learn from written instructions

Entry-level Firefighter Exam Information

Candidates may take the exam in paper and pencil format on Hilton Head Island on Saturday, March 27, 2021 or take the exam online between March 28 – April 3, 2021.

Paper and Pencil Test Option

  • When - March 27, 2021
  • Where - Hilton Head Island
  • Format - Pencil and paper test taken in person
  • Proctoring Cost - Free

Candidates will be required to verify their identity with a picture ID. Information on the testing time and location will be sent to candidates via email on or before March 22, 2021.

Online Test Option

  • When - Anytime during the March 28 - April 2, 2021 testing window
  • Where - Any location using a computer with internet access, a webcam and microphone (system requirements for this option are below)
  • Format - Online Test
  • Proctoring - Live, virtual proctoring
  • Cost - Free

Candidates will be required to verify their identity with a picture ID. Instructions on test scheduling and fee payment will be sent to the candidates via email by March 22, 2021.
