Town Purchases 7.19 Acres of Property on Bryant Road

The Town of Hilton Head Island has purchased 7.19 acres of property at 30 Bryant Road for $3.4 million.

This acquisition expands the Town's land portfolio and provides more opportunities for future public-private partnerships or similar ventures for workforce housing. "This property has great potential to be used in addressing the dwindling supply of workforce housing on the Island," said Mayor Alan Perry. "Spanish Wells is an area where new, small residential communities have evolved, so we are excited about owning land in this part of the Island. We look forward to discussing the opportunities for utilizing it and will keep the public apprised."

Town Council approved the purchase of the site off Spanish Wells Road near the Cross Island Parkway in May. It was formerly the Spanish Grove Mobile Home Park site. The Town closed on the acquisition on June 30 and financed its purchase with funds from real estate transfer fees that are earmarked to buy property.
