Town of Hilton Head Island Presents Hilton Head Island - 2023 Songwriter Festival

The Town of Hilton Head Island is excited to present the Hilton Head Island Jam – 2023 Songwriter Festival, a signature event for its 360/40 celebration commemorating the anniversaries of the Island's sighting 360 years ago and its incorporation as a municipality four decades ago.

Headlined by American country music duo LOCASH, Hilton Head Island Jam offers a unique experience where songwriters take center stage, sharing their stories and performing their original compositions in intimate and captivating settings. During the festival, occurring September 14 through September 17, attendees will enjoy performances by established and up-and-coming songwriters with diverse styles and genres.

The festival is also supported by BMI. A global leader in music rights management, BMI represents over 20.6 million musical works created and owned by more than 1.3 million songwriters, composers, and music publishers.

"Along with BMI, the Town is proud to bring this music festival to Hilton Head Island amidst the grand celebration of 360 years of history and 40 years of vibrant community spirit. Music serves as the harmonious thread that unites people. We're celebrating our Island's history and its people and coming together to connect, share, and embrace our future while honoring our cherished past," said Mayor Alan Perry. "This festival will be one of the highlights of our celebration. I hope our residents and Island guests will join us for these unforgettable performances, including our free community concert."

Hilton Head Island Jam presents more than 35 songwriters from around the south at this inaugural festival. The impressive lineup includes famed Nashville artists like 2020 Country Music Hall of Famer Dean Dillon, Grammy-nominated Bobby Pinson, Alison Nichols, Clint Daniels, Matt Robbins, along with a dozen well-known songwriters with Hilton Head Island connections. They will appear at free and ticketed events hosted by a dozen partnering venues around the Island - Beach House, Jazz Corner, The Bank, and Coligny Theater, and The Westin Resort to name a few.

LOCASH will be the guest performer at the finale of the 360/40 celebration - a free community concert at 7 pm, Saturday, September 16 at Lowcountry Celebration Park. Formally known as the LoCash Cowboys, this songwriter duo features Chris Lucas and Preston Brust. They originally formed in 2008 and debuted at No.1 on the Billboard charts in October 2016 with their hit song "I Love This Life." Chris and Preston have released three studio albums, 11 music videos, and 12 must-listen-to singles throughout their successful music career.
