Town of Hilton Head Island Opens Applications for Affiliated Agency Funding

The Town of Hilton Head Island is pleased to announce that applications are now being accepted for funding from affiliated agencies providing contracted services to the Town. Interested parties are encouraged to submit their applications on or before January 31, 2024, at 4 pm.

Affiliated agencies are integral partners contracted by the Town to deliver services that benefit the public on the Town's behalf. The funding review process will be conducted with a commitment to transparency and accountability, and be guided by the following criteria to assess the public purpose served by each project:

• Clear Public Goal or Benefit: Evaluation of the presence of a distinct goal or benefit to the public resulting from the proposed project.
• Primary Beneficiary: Assessment of the extent to which public or private parties will be the primary beneficiaries of the project.
• Speculation Level: Consideration of the level of speculation inherent in the project to determine its feasibility and potential impact.
• Probability of Public Interest: Evaluation of the overall probability that the public interest will be served, and the degree to which it will be served.

This review process was designed to ensure transparency and accountability in the distribution of public funds for projects that significantly contribute to the public good.
