Let's Talk: Informational Drop-in For Small and Minority-owned Businesses

The Town of Hilton Head Island is hosting an informational drop-in for small and minority-owned disadvantaged businesses to facilitate connections between them and access to community business resources.

When: Thursday, April 4, 2024, from 5 pm to 7 pm

Where: Island Rec Center, 20 Wilborn Road, Hilton Head Island, SC

Who: The following organizations will be on hand to meet with you and share resources:

• Town of Hilton Head Island Procurement, Business Licenses and Community Development divisions
• Gullah Geechee Historic Neighborhoods Community Development Corporation
• Service Corps of Retired Executives (SCORE)
• BlacQuity
• Hispanic Business Association
• SC Division of Small and Minority Business Contracting and Certification

What to Expect: 

Town staff will offer insights into the Town’s bidding and procurement procedures, guide participants through the vendor registration process, and answer questions about the Town’s Small and Minority-owned Disadvantaged Business Enterprise Utilization Program. Additionally, representatives from various organizations will share details about their services and resources, provide guidance with business certifications, and answer any related questions from attendees.

Why:

The Town is committed to ensuring that small business enterprises and businesses owned and operated by women and minority persons have the opportunity to participate in the Town’s procurement process for goods and services. Business owners are encouraged to visit the Town's procurement webpage for a list of frequently asked questions about its Small and Minority-owned Disadvantaged Business Enterprise Utilization Program and subscribe to receive electronic notifications for Town solicitations matching their products and services.
