Pathway at Islanders Beach Park Now Open

Town of Hilton Head Island officials announced that construction work for a new pathway at Islanders Beach Park, 94 Folly Field Road, has been completed. The pathway is now open for public use.

The project consisted of:

• construction of a 12-foot-wide paver pathway through the center of the park and a raised crosswalk on Folly Field Road leading to the park's entrance.
• new benches, additional golf cart parking, signage, and crosswalk markings.
• landscape improvements along the entire pathway.

"Our efforts over recent months to enhance our beach parks reflect our commitment to improving amenities for residents. The completion of the pathway at Islanders Beach Park expands our network, fostering better connectivity for bicyclists and pedestrians, ensuring safer exploration of our island's beauty," said Mayor Alan Perry.

Chris McVey, the Senior Project Manager who oversaw the project, said the Town takes pride in providing great amenities across all its beach parks. "This beautiful paver pathway is a great example of the improvements we are making. It creates a safe pathway link for pedestrians and bicyclists entering Islanders Beach Park."
