Beginning the week of April 22, contractors for the Town of Hilton Head Island will start demolishing the former Cross Island Parkway toll office building located at 4 Marshland Lane.
Work will also include the removal of overgrown, invasive vegetation, debris, and any accumulated trash. All work is expected to be completed within 30 days.
The building, situated on a 1.68-acre site, has been vacant since the fall of 2021. The South Carolina Department of Transportation (SCDOT) discontinued toll operations for the Cross Island Parkway on June 30, 2021. Ownership of the building and property was transferred to the Town.
